this calculator is really handy and useful but it does not cater for bigger returns eg my returns are 5.5 and 7.5 and overlaps are 3.5

I thought the curtain started with a space and ended with a space. Therefore there would always be one pleat less. The calculator gave more pleats than spaces. Let me know sent the answer to my email

Hi Maria,
The spaces at the end of the curtains are called returns. The calculator
asks you what your returns will be… usually about 2 or 3″.
Then you have your pleats and spaces.
So… return - pleat - space - pleat - space - pleat - return
