I have already purchased the Sewing Membership and I purchased the hobbled roman shade video and e-book. Now I can’t figure out how to access the video again to review it. I am absolutely purplexed by this shade … I have tape I ordered online at Heavenly Home. I have sewn the tape to the pleats in the shade. What I don’t understand is how the shade holds the pleats if it’s only sewn to the pleat and not the face fabric. I am concerned the pleat will slide down the cord once it is hung and lose the pleated look and have a traditional roman shade look. Can you help me understand what makes the shade stay in place once the cords go through the hoops and the shade is not drawn up?

First, the link to the videos and ebook: http://www.simplesewingprojects.com/how-to-make-a-hobbled-roman-shade/

Second, the ring spacing on the tape is HALF the distance of the space between the pleats. So, when the rings are sewn to the pleats, it forces the fabric to fold… thus creating permanent pleats. That’s how the pleats stay pleated.
