Sewing Tips

Question:

My question is I have two windows next to each other in the corner of my living room.  I am trying to figure out how wide to make my roman lined shades so that they will fit next to each other without touching each other.  My question, is there normally any excess bulk on the width of the shade when they are drawn up? Or can I figure that the width I make them will be the finished width when raised up?

Answer:

Roman Shades don’t expand outward when being raised. They stack up underneath. So, I recommend you have about 1/4″ to 1/2″ in between your roman shades.

Hope that helps.
