Yes, it's a bit of a tongue twister to say, but the rib ring loop tape will save you hours of work. Normally, when you sew a ribbed roman shade, you need to fold the fabric for every row of rings and sew a casing. Then insert the rib. Then sew on your shade rings individually.
Well, with the rib ring loop tape you sew it across your shade where you were planning on sewing your casing and rings with one row of stitching. And you're done!
You instantly have a casing for your roman shade rib and loops to thread your lift cord through. Easy!
Now, to use the tape, it's better to explain how it looks so that you know where to sew it. The most common question I get is "Where do I sew the one row of stitching?"
When you lay the tape onto your lining, you want to lay the loop side up. When touching the tape you will be able to tell which side has the loops.
Now, the edge that has the casing doesn't seem like the casing edge at first. Mainly because it has openings every 12" or so. This is to help you slide your rib in or out without having to worry about keeping the ends open.
The top of the tape looks like it's stitched closed. You will stitch just below this top edge.
The anatomy of the tape has the stitched edge at the top, a space where your stitching line will go, the loops and then the casing.
